Are you a beginner swimmer who wants to swim faster? Do you find yourself tiring quickly in the swim? Do you just want to feel fresher when you get out of the water? Then our beginner stroke improvement clinic is for you!
What is it?
 2-hour Beginner Swim Stroke Improvement Clinic at Harbour Collegiate, starting from 11:30am-1:30 pm on Oct 29th. The goal of the clinic is to teach you correct breathing and body position, learn drills to reinforce good stroke mechanics, increase speed in the pool by improving flexibility and efficiency, while also fostering a love for the sport.

Beginner stroke technique session to include an instructional and in-water component. 

- We will watch a video to get a sense of proper stroke technique

- We will break down and demonstrate the individual components of the stroke (breathing, body position, kicking and the catch and pull)

- The in water component will introduce drills to help with the individual components of the stroke

- Everyone will receive feedback as to what drills and stroke improvements they should focus on following the session and how to include them in their swimming moving forward

Limit: 18 participants

Minimum Requirements
This clinic is for anyone who has experience in the pool but wishes to advance their technique to an intermediate level, Athletes must be able to swim 100 metres unassisted in a short course metres pool without touching the bottom.
Needed: appropriate swim wear, goggles and preferably a swim cap and a water bottle, warm clothes for deck. 
No fins, paddles or pull buoys will be used in this clinic. 
Please plan on arriving early to change.
