Join us on April 7th from 2-4 for part 2 of Stroke Improvement with Video & Analysis.

Location: Rosedale Heights School of the Arts, 711 Bloor St E, Toronto, ON M4W 1J4

Coaches Miranda Tomenson and Samuel Johnson will be leading a swim clinic designed to improve your freestyle stroke.

The clinic will include underwater and above water video of your swim stroke. We will video both the left and right side, as well as a front view (both underwater and above the water). Each swim video will be analyzed and compared to perfect technique. This will raise awareness about the weaknesses in your stroke. Additionally, you will be introduced to drills and skills that can be used to improve stroke inefficiencies. These include swim drills specific towards improving body position, the freestyle catch/pull and the kick.

The combination of video analysis and learning swim drills will give you the tools you need to fix the inefficiencies in your stroke moving forward.

The plan:

Swimmers will start with a short warmup and then they will be individually filmed (side and head on view) and the videos will be reviewed as a group.

Next, each swimmer will have a chance to individually practice certain drills and technique changes, with the coaches on deck watching and providing feedback.

Swimmers will then be re-filmed.

This clinic is for intermediate level swimmers or swimmers who have plateaued in months or years and are looking to improve. Athletes must be able to swim 100 metres unassisted in a short course metres pool without touching the bottom.

Needed: appropriate swim wear, goggles and preferably a swim cap and a water bottle, warm clothes for deck.

No fins, paddles or pull buoys will be used in this clinic.

Please plan on arriving early to change.
